RESTAURANT EL ANCLA

Tarifa - The Culture Clique

I have been lucky enough to have known El Ancla proprietor Eduardo Mackintosh for many years having been introduced to him by a dear friend on my arrival in Spain. Needless to say over the years I have frequented his glorious restaurant on numerous occasions and enjoyed the superb seafood and international cuisine. Indeed whilst working for a society magazine here I held a competition as to which restaurant served the best sardines. El Ancla won – hands down. Their delicious grilled spitted sardines (“espetones de sardinas”) are one of their many mouth-watering signature dishes.

El Ancla is perfectly situated on Lynda Vista Beach San Pedro. It not only boasts 150 covers in the main restaurant inside and outside, but a bodega to chill out in the afternoon overlooking their unique sea water swimming pool, the largest in Europe.
