The gallery in Puerto Banus was opened over 30 years ago by Sam Benady, making it probably the oldest gallery in the Marbella area. Sam the owner, started in the art world during the 70’s in London, with a gallery specializing in 19th century European paintings, particularly Orientalist pictures. From London he moved to Madrid and opened a gallery showing 19th century Spanish paintings, in which he was a considerable authority having published 2 dictionaries on “ Spanish painters in Rome “ and then “ Spanish painters in Paris “ which even today are considered the byword for this era. He then branched out into various different views of art in general.
The gallery in Puerto Banus is devoted to contemporary paintings, mostly Spanish of a figurative nature and also sculpture. It is spacious and easily accessible just off the Antonio Banderas square in Puerto Banus
