Pan fried Sea Bream at The Sutton Restaurant Marbella

 Sutton Restaurant Marbella

By chance a friend of mine called me and asked me out to lunch at Sutton restaurant Marbella. As I hadn’t tried it out I was very willing to see it.

Located on the golden mile of Marbella, just by the defunct Aresbank, Sutton restaurant has been taken over and given a well deserved facelift. The decor is pleasing, nothing to distract the eye from your plate or friends, but nothing bland, neither was the food.

The lunch menu is 20€, I know it’s on the higher end but it is well worth it. 2 courses, and drinks are extra. However, the food is the same standard as the a la carte,

“I had the Tempura Tiger Prawns which were delicious. They were crisp, the batter was really light and it came with a lightly spiced salad with mango, strawberries and salad leaves.”

The dressing for the salad was spot on and the Prawns had sweet chillie sauce drizzled over them, not too much, so they wouldn’t be soggy. My companion had the grilled Rib Eye and said it came just as he liked. My main was the Pan fried Sea Bass, very crisp skin and yet moist firm fish. My only small quibble was the veloute sauce, I could have done with a lighter sauce. It was smooth and had a good sheen to it, but my preference would have been a lemon / limey sauce to set the fish off.

I skipped the dessert, but my companion had the chocolate fondant which was nicely warm and soft in the middle when cut into and the ice cream deliciously creamy. Service was attentive but not intrusive, it was a smooth service in spite of being quite full. I would go back again with pleasure.

Oh. Very important. The lavatories at Sutton Restaurant Marbella are spotless and nicely done!
